Our Leadership

Wendel Dandridge, Phd, Leader and Teacher with Lady Ivanna Dandridge

Wendel Dandridge is a man whose life story brings together faith, scholarship, leadership, resilience, and a deep commitment to walking with people through real-life challenges. His journey has taken him from seasons of profound struggle—including overcoming a full year of homelessness—to places of influence, impact, and spiritual authority. Through it all, he has remained grounded in the belief that every experience, good or difficult, can be a teacher.

Today, Wendel serves as the Lead Pastor of The Worship Center Church, where his preaching blends biblical depth with a conversational, accessible style that resonates with people from all walks of life. He brings that same energy to the classroom as a Professor of Religion at Clark Atlanta University, teaching Biblical Heritage, The African American Religious Experience, and Contemporary Religious Thought. Whether in a sanctuary or a lecture hall, he has a gift for helping people see themselves, their stories, and their faith more clearly. His voice has reached national platforms as well, including an appearance on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.

As his work grew, so did the recognition. He was named one of the Top 100 Leaders in 2016 by the John Maxwell Leadership Awards, and in 2017 he was inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers at Morehouse College—an honor that reflects both his scholarship and his commitment to spiritual leadership. In the midst of these achievements, he proudly carries his brotherhood as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., an organization that has shaped his leadership style, service ethic, and dedication to uplifting communities.

Wendel is also a prolific and passionate writer. He has authored more than 20 books spanning grief, personal development, and religious commentary—offering thoughtful, compassionate guidance for people who are healing, growing, or searching for meaning. His creativity extends beyond the page as the playwright of the stage production “The Last One,” a powerful and reflective story that weaves together themes of depression, faith, and redemption.

Academically, he is rooted in excellence with a Bachelor of Arts from Morehouse College, a Master of Divinity from The Interdenominational Theological Center, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Petra Theological Seminary. Each degree reflects his commitment to intellectual rigor, spiritual clarity, and service to the church and the academy.

But beyond the titles and accomplishments, Dr. Dandridge is a devoted family man. He is joyfully married to Ivanna Dandridge, and together they are raising three beautiful children—Charlotte, Jonah, and Victoria—who remain his greatest inspiration and the heart of his life’s work.

Whether he is preaching, teaching, writing, or simply listening to someone’s story, Dr. Wendel Dandridge shows up with authenticity, wisdom, and a deep belief in the transformative power of spiritual awareness and human connection.
